Cerridwen Statue
This is a beautiful statue of Cerridwen, an old Welsh Goddess associated with the eternal cycle of life, death, and rebirth. She will be a wonderful addition to your altar, shrine or sacred space.
Ceridwen was an enchantress in Welsh medieval legend. She was the mother of a hideous son, Morfran, and a beautiful daughter, Creirwy. Her husband was Tegid Foel, and they lived near Bala Lake (Llyn Tegid) in north Wales.
She was mother to the great Celtic bard Taliesin. Her herbal potions bring forth initiation and transformation, just as tiny grains become vast fields of wheat that then transform into the bread that sustains life. Her totem animal is the white sow and she is a shapeshifter, able to be seen as a greyhound, an otter, a hawk, and a black hen.
Medieval Welsh poetry refers to her as possessing the cauldron of poetic inspiration (Awen) and the Tale of Taliesin recounts her swallowing her servant Gwion Bach who is then reborn through her as the poet Taliesin. Ceridwen is regarded by many modern Pagans as the Celtic goddess of rebirth, transformation, and inspiration.
This wonderfully detailed statue created by Maxine Miller, is made of high quality composite resin, hand painted and polished individually.
This Beautiful Ceridwen Figurine measures 8.5″ tall, 8.5″ long and 8″ deep approximately. She weighs about 3.75 pounds.
